Digital Media Content
It was peak pandemic. Social distancing was in full-swing, Hollywood was shut down, and the class of 2020 had just graduated into the worst job market. On top of that, it was an election year, and a race I wanted to get involved in.
I had been politically active on campus earlier, going on national TV to press presidential candidates with tough questions on climate issues. I was producing shows at the journalism school then, and I wanted to go beyond just reporting news to actually being a part of a campaign.
The led me to join South Asians for America (formerly South Asians for Biden), a local Bay Area political organization, as their digital content producer on the Rapid Response Team. I started out doing the basics: phonebaking, going to fundraisers, attending Zoom get-togethers.
But I took it up a notch by producing videos with a strong team of 1. (It was the pandemic after all.)
